Parent Night Learnings

So apparently Parent Night is not an opportunity to honor my own parents.  I invited my mom and dad and they showed up with t-shirts that said things like "I love Mr. Van Dyne" and "what would life BE without mr. V?"  Sadly, I forgot to wear my "My Mom and Dad Still Love Me Regardless" t-shirt.  Also sad is the 25 parents that showed up for Parent Night expecting some kind of formal plan for the evening.  I brought a cake.  What else do they need?

Harder Than I Thought...

Ok, so it is a bit harder than I thought.  The students continue to come each day and my teachers keep asking for extra things like electricity and respect.  Our first Parent Night is coming up next week.  I am hoping for a low turnout.

Welcome to an OK New School Year!

It's September again, and you know what that means.  It's time to learn more Essential Learning Academic Standard Uncommon Core Target Guidelines!  My name is Mr. Van Dyne, and like most of you, I can't believe I got hired for this job.  My teaching certificate lapsed and someone bet me that I didn't have the guts to apply to be a principal.  Well, I didn't.  Someone much more qualified than me borrowed my identity and nailed the interview, and after some serious litigation, here I am!  How hard could it be?
